When I worked at a small PC store, I saw worse. Dead mice. Bugs. A dell optiplex that had a half inch mat of cat hair covering the entire air intake screen. Smoker's PCs with a layer of sticky brown tar on the all the inside parts. Just to name a few.

If the smoker dust is anything like kitchen dust, like this greasy dust, it’s the worst because you can’t just simply dust it of. You have to basically wash it with alcohol to get rid of it. Also I can Image the smell is going to stay.

Funny thing is that my PC (which was cleaned and maintained every few months) had one of those nasty spider nests, likely causing all kinds of decreased efficiency in my PC. At the time, I didn't have a dedicated graphics card and was on my iGPU, but I couldn't be bothered to put back the extension slot cover. 4 months later, voila - a nasty spider nest.

I lived in a sh*tty apartment for 3 years that had a roach problem. Had a PS3 there and logged many hours on it, never cleaned it... I ran my builds in my garage/workshops for years. Looked so nasty on the inside, never had any problems.... Sometimes I felt a bit negligent so I blasted them out with the compressor. Cant get over how clean it stays now that its on a desk in the house.
