I bought a 2080 TI FE not long after launch. First PC I had built in years so wanted something a bit special. Anyway, I had to RMA this card because it kept hitting 89 Celsius then ramping the fans up and down in an attempt to stabilise. Replacement card came in a chewed up cardboard box and from the moment it received power, the second fan was stuck at max revs. Sent this broken pile of shit back and then a week later received card three. Good thermals, working nicely then a day after playing Cyberpunk the PC resets and I get the space invader shit over my display. RMA'd this just before Xmas and a few days ago I got CARD NUMBER FOUR. So far so good but wish me luck eh as if this fucker dies I'm going to AMD :D

Well I just got a 2080ti Founders Edition 2 days ago for $700. Decided to upgrade to it from my previous 1080ti which I sold for $520. Pretty good deal in my opinion since 3070 and 3080 cards will not be available in MSRP any time soon... Maybe not even after 2021... As a newly 2080ti owner, I can say I am very happy with this card since it has 3 more GB of GDDR6 than the 3070 and it's availability in retail price may be far from soon.

Honestly, people who were stupid enough to buy the FIRST GENERATION RAY TRACING cards in the first place are idiots. You never buy first gen anything. 2nd gen will ALWAYS be cheaper and better. Furthermore, the people who bought FIRST GENERATION RAY TRACING cards a month before 2nd generation was supposed to come out, during a global pandemic when parts are all super expensive, are even... stupid-er. There is zero reason to buy a 2080TI. Literally zero reason. All modern games can be run on a 1080TI at max settings just fine and there are VERY... VERY few games that actually support ray tracing well enough to play with it on.

@Kilos Cthulu not that it’s bad, but it’s definitely not very optimized at this point. Likely due to a completely new architecture that game developers have not had much time to develop games for. It’ll definitely get better over time. However, the 8gb of vram cannot be changed.

I sold my 2080 Ti for the same price I paid for it originally, £900 just before the prices tanked on the used market and the guy who bought it from me on eBay tried scamming me by returning back a GTX 1060 and in the end I got to keep the money and the card he sent me which worked perfectly and sold it for an extra £160 so in the end I got £1060 for a card I sold for £900........ but the downside is the RTX 3080 I ordered months ago is still not here so I'm using my old GTX 1080 for now.

I had amazing stroke of luck. MY rtx 2080ti was crashing every single game since I bought my new pc mid March last year. But since most of the games were not stable (latest rtx games) I blamed the games instead of the card itself. Come December I get sick of it and RMA the card. Guess what... It was a card issue and in return for the same value of the rtx 2080ti I get an PNY rtx 3090. Great success 😁🤣
