@bitwit the memory at 14:33 is G.Skill Aegis 3000MHz 2x8GB. it's prefectly good memory. besides; DDR4 Doesn't really need the heatspreaders. but sure it looks good. these sticks have a heatspreading sticker though. used them in a lot of builds. they are cheap and great performance.

Why would anyone buy a pre-built when there are (at least in my country) companies who build you a custom PC with components you choose and ask 60$ for putting it together. Why would anyone buy a pre-built?

If people don't want to buy a pre build just use the websites cyberpower or pc specialist and you can configure your pc and they build and ship for you.

That is very true building your own is way better,but buying a prebuilt has its uses,I recently bought a HP omen L30 for a 3rd computer my other 2 PC'S I built them myself the omen will never have an upgrade but is good for what I'm I'm using it for just running scenery on 2 screens for prepard3d.

Only reason i want a prebuilt is because there are no graphics cards for sell, theyre all out of stock, or at least they are all wayyyy overpriced

Intel F series CPUs do not allow XMP Profiles so the ram is locked at 2666 regardless of what you put in there. Something to consider before trying to spend an extra $10 on an Intel. But honestly the cables are the real deal breaker.

Where I live, building your own PC doesn't give you that much. Components are really expensive and you often get better CPUs and GPUs for cheaper in a pre-built. You rarly or never go even or under a pre-built with a DIY. Some stores build their own computers with quality brand components. But to get a good deal you need to be lucky and find a store that want to empty their stock of older components. At that point you can get a quality pre-built with quality brand components, though with a few years older components. Having to wait for good deals like that isn't really fun if you need something right away, and a deal like that might not even show up.

I recently got a prebuilt from iBuypower. I'm certain I over paid for what I could get the parts for separately. However, the fact that it's impossible to find a graphics card alone was worth being able to get something decent (Gigabyte 3060 TI).

Just before Christmas I thought about building one. I'm a build virgin and many years behind but mechanically capable. Started playing with the "builder" on newegg. That's when I discovered the GPU drought. I was picking parts by ratings vs cost staying under $1500 total (taxes, shipping too). If a 3060ti had been obtainable at msrp (or at all) I might have squeezed it in, I was around $900 I think with no card before making any adjustments. Thought maybe it was just Christmas but couldn't see a card of any kind anywhere except a few scalpers at three times the price. After looking around I discovered all the bitching about the shortage. I went for one of those nifty ABS systems just inside my budget and yes, it's all very low end with an i7 9700f, Gigabyte Gaming OC 3060ti, 16gig of Oloy 2666. Gigabyte B365M DS3H Wifi board, Thermaltake UX100 cooler, Thermaltake 600w Smart 80+ Gold. Don't know the case number but it is pretty well ventilated and came with 3 fans. 200+ fps maxed settings in the one game I play, really fast render times in my 3D programs. Yay! Didn't care for the "gaming" keyboard and mouse that came with it. What else... Oh yeah...it's on the way back for a second try. After 20 days of just fine... I went to start it up, bios loop for an hour or so while I fiddled and kept hoping THIS time it will boot. Then eventually startstopstartstopstart til I killed the power and just boxed it back up.

So I'm one of the many who hadn't subscribed but watched quite a few vids (I'd been put off subscribing initially before now because of certain pejoratives and phrases that really shouldn't be in your active vocab and lexicon to be inclusive) but I am now subbed and going through the extensive back catalogue. I just wanna say kudos for mentioning and acknowledging those with disabilities who may not be in a position to make their own build. I find quite often techtubers often not only overlooking their DEpost privilege (eg hey, money is a thing people need to buy nice things normally lol) but most of the time act like differently abled people don't exist. So kudos Bitwit for mentioning that 👍🏻 I'm physically disabled and for the longest time it was a completely invisible illness, and the struggle is REAL. Keep it up 👍🏻🤓

As of 2021 prebuilts are cheaper and are better quality. Also not every diy builder gets premium parts. Most cheap out as well.

I currently own an ibuypower pc and it works pretty well, although I eventually want to build my own in the future and knowing how to do it will help me even later in the future for more builds and upgrading. Quite honestly I think that people often exaggerate how hard it is to build a pc, with all of the information, guides and tutorials, I feel very confident in building one when the time comes.

I've actually stumbled upon a pr built one that I ordered, at first I was confused of the price and suspected that when it comes i would find different parts in it, but surprisingly enough when it came the parts were legit and if I were to build it on my own it would cost me like 10-20 $ more (i live in Poland so that's a rough estimate) the only weak spot was a cheap cpu fan cooler wich didn't really bother me cause a i had an good aio from my previous build

I'm renting a skytexk and it runs everything on the hightes settings, even the most new games out there. Allthough I do agree with you, my 1st pc I rented was junk, could hardly run anything and the place I got it from told me it would run anything and that was a lie, I guess you get what you pay for, scents I only piad around 60 dolloers a month for it. The pc I have now, I pay allmost 300 a month and it runs everything with over 200 frams.

You can have Evetech build for you after you choose your components, so it makes great pre-built PCs

I got a prebuilt Asus pc for Christmas and I already had some saved up as I was planning to build, I am using around 350 dollars of that to upgrade a 1700 dollar prebuilt with a 240mm aio new 16 gigs of 3200 MHz memory and a new motherboard because those were the most cheaped out parts, using an intel stock cooler and a single stick of 8 gigs 2400 MHz memory on a no-name motherboard, the GPU that came with it is an RTX 2070 super.

ok, I'm with you on the prebuilds. But you didn't really "buy" anything, you priced what it SHOULD cost, but there is NO WAY you're building from the ground up with a 2060 anything for $730. This is REALLY ignorant of the market and you know this is not realistic advice in 2020-21. Ryzen 5 for 70 bucks or whatever? Yeah, whatever. I looked. I didn't see ryzen 5 anything for under 140.
